
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Edward D. Brockus, who passed away at the age of 90 on September 27, 2025, in Kanab, Utah.
Ed was born on January 16, 1935, to William and Florence Brockus. He graduated from Fillmore High School in 1952. Soon after graduating, he married Joann Fowler, and together they raised four children.
Ed worked at Bardsdale Cemetery from a young age alongside his father, William. After his father’s passing, Ed took over as Cemetery Manager. He loved his work and took great pride in maintaining the cemetery. In addition to his work there, Ed served for 15 years with the Fillmore Search and Rescue.
After more than 40 years at Bardsdale Cemetery, Ed retired and moved with his wife, Joann, to Glendale, Utah, where his brother Bill and sister-in-law Greta lived. Ed and Bill shared many adventures together, including fishing, trail riding, and spending time together. They also enjoyed 35 years on the hill at Lydia’s Canyon. Bill passed away four months earlier at the age of 91.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, William and Florence Brockus; his wife, Joanne; his sister, Joy; and his brother, Bill.
He is survived by his son, Steve Brockus and wife Rhonda; daughters Debbie Blaylock and husband Joe, Sandy Collins and husband Chris, and Janet Peery and husband Joe.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Michelle Jackson, Tammy Perryman, Steve Brockus Jr., Sheena Chips, and Nicholas Blaylock; great-grandchildren Alex, Karissa, Myah, Laylah, Emily, Brody, Shelby, Carter, Brooke, Brayden, David, and Jason; and one great-great-grandson, Jayce.
