I must admit I’m getting tired of commenting on the Ukraine war, though I am convinced that it is leading us into the initial phase of WWIII.
I am surprised that White House events in the last couple of months have also caused me to recoil from several Trump-J. D.
Vance negotiating tactics. I recently replayed the Oval Office conference video between President Trump, V.P. Vance,
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and various press personnel. Once again it was an appalling attack on Zelenskyy, the president of a
free, democratic, Christian nation in the midst of a defensive war for its life against Russia, a notorious perennial
aggressor. I found it shameful. This was a deliberate effort to dishonor Zelenskyy, a friend and ally, while the president’s
guest was repeatedly admonished to express his thanks to the U.S. for billions in war material. No one remembered the grants
of assistance though the Marshall Plan, grants, not loans, nor the 200,000 dead Ukrainian soldiers and devastated hospitals,
schools, orphanages, homes, power plants, and businesses, nor his many expressions of gratitude. This behavior, in the minds
of many Free World citizens, amounts to a reprehensible shakedown by both the President and Vance for aid and minerals.
Let’s remember Ukraine, under Zelenskyy, has held Russia (10-times its size) at bay for going on four years! Maybe we should
thank him.
The greatest shame of all is Trump’s announcement that he intends to “walk away” from Ukraine if he fails to make peace with
Putin. But let’s look at this U.S. proposed peace deal, a laundry list of Russian demands, with nothing for Ukraine: give up
25 percent of the country, including US to formally recognize Crimea as Russian. Cannot join NATO. Power plants to U.S.
Ukraine cannot rearm. No American defense. Russia keeps all land taken so far. No arms or intelligence from U.S. One good
thing for Ukraine in the “deal”: Russia must return the 30,000 Ukrainian children they kidnapped and are incorporating into
Russia by force.
Watching that Oval Office ambush, and the insults that followed, my approval of both Trump and Vance has been diminished.
What truly galls me is the fact that Trump will do nothing at all to punish Putin for this war or even admit that he started
it. For now, I remain a Trump supporter.
The Free World is shocked by Trump’s treatment of Zelenskyy and Ukraine. It is rejecting the so-called American peace plan
and finally preparing for war. The Free World is shocked and disappointed with Trump for this betrayal of Ukraine in its
time of greatest need.
I believe America will inherit the winds of war from Europe and East Asia this year. And, as usual, we remain unprepared,
psychologically, and materially.
