Several months ago I wrote in defense of two of our police officers who had to kill two pit bulls. They had gotten out of their fenced yard, ran wild in the streets, chasing at least three people, including a young girl and an elderly man (who narrowly escaped into his house before one of the dogs charged at his front door).
One deputy was charged and had to shoot the dogs. I was criticized for that opinion.
This week I read that a 5-year-old Simi Valley girl was killed in a pit bull attack.
I know there are many fine, gentle, trustworthy pit bulls around, but their propensity to attack is beyond dispute. The problem lies with criminal breeders, often breeding fighting dogs, and completely irresponsible owners who breed them to sell the pups to anyone. The breed has been ruined.
Grief at learning of such a beautiful little girl so savagely killed is beyond expression. Special, draconian laws need to be passed to control this dangerous animal. Owners and breeders of these dogs should be treated by the law as though they have charge of wolves, which can attack without warning.

I have to confess that I see Barack Obama as the greatest interior threat to American security ever in my lifetime.
His reputation for a close, life-long association with the most vicious racists like the “reverends” Louis Farrakhan and “Father Phlegm” Pfleger, with admitted (and unrepentant) terrorist Bill Ayers, and anarchists, communists and a long string of other dangerous people, precedes his status as the single most extreme liberal in the US Senate. He is to me like a packaged product straight from the smoky prophesies of the Book of Revelation. We are just beginning to learn about whom he really is, and he is, for all we know to date, a very scary person with many equally scary friends.
I am so thoroughly disgusted with American politicians and politics that I’m beginning to believe that, should he actually win the presidency, this country is well deserving of the political horror he will certainly unveil.
Psychotic Jihadists, Chinese Communists, Russian criminals, Muslim terrorists, and home-grown racists, traitors and anarchists, will coalesce into a perfect storm of military, civil, and financial chaos if President Obama becomes an historical fact.
Yeah, I know. Sounds pretty wild, doesn’t it? But that doesn’t make it less true.

PIT BULLS: Seems that any
PIT BULLS: Seems that any animal that people harbor as their pets, seem to be "extensions" of the personality of their owners. Ever notice that? Sometimes, even the owner's resemble the animals, and vice-versa. However, in my time searching web sites of other newspapers across the country (in towns I lived in before), I noticed in the Bangor Daily News about two weeks ago that two pit bulls in a nearby town had attacked, and nearly killed a neighboring, 7-year old German Shepherd. Photos of the dog revealed several large gashes and bodily tears under the dog's armpit areas, back, and stomach, and another gaping tear was under the throat of the German Shepherd. The two pit bulls were "put to sleep", at the advice of the local police to the owner (who agreed to the act). Now, the owner of the pit bulls wants to sue the town (of Hampden, ME) for killing the dogs. Seems as though the owner tried to "turn the tables" on the town, but it was rejected by the town attorney. A "Pit Bull Terrier" is a variety of dog that was specifically developed in the USA solely as a fighting dog. It is not officially recognized as a breed by the American or British Kennel Clubs. They state that this type of dog is developed by selective breeding for physical strength and aggression, and this dog is unsuitable for life in our modern communities. So why do we allow this type of dog to be legally maintained and kept by their owners? Good question, City of Fillmore! We, here in the Philippines, do not have these animals, because they are dangerous to the communities at large. People here have their children roaming all over the place...and many people walk to wherever they want to go. Attack dogs and dogs with the Pit bull's emotionality and temperment do not belong here, either. City Ordnance, anyone?
OBAMA: Mr. Farrell...if you can understand what Baraka Obama is...why in the world cannot the rest of America see the same point of view, too? The more I learn and study about this guy, the more I despise who, and what he is and stands for! He seemed to "come out of the woodwork", so to speak, the same style and manner in which Bill Clinton came. There he was...all of a sudden. I watched Situation Room this morning eating breakfast, and it seems the "polls" show Obama almost 115 delegates ahead of John McCain. Your readers all have their choices, too, but if we study the variables, it becomes very clear what is going to happen. Obama is going to promise a federal position to Hillary Clinton...she has had her foot in the door for several months now, ever since she lost the candidacy to Obama...now Billy-Bob is campaigning like crazy for Obama. Billy-Bob despises Blacks (and I do not know the reasons for that), but Obama is not Black...he is over 85% Muslim-Arab. The Clinton's do nothing for anyone, unless they get something big in return. Obama is not that swift, not to see this coming. Apparently most of the people that profess to be voting for him should go down to Vons and get one of those white canes being given away. Maybe they also need a "seeing-eye pit bull" to walk them along, as well. Ya, we Americans in the Philippines (the ones I have spoken to) are embarassed at this no-option situation we will get into if Obama, his family, friends, political theories, religious leanings and background could possibly get the US into. The Asians are literally laughing at the US's current political and future outlook and our choice that almost the entire country favors Obama. With the terrorist groups all around me here in the Philippines, not one of these groups have bothered me, or any other American citizen I know of. Seems the "America First" slogan may just come back to haunt; if Obama is elected.

I hate to be a bother to the Gazette, but I was showing the Editorial "Realities" to Major Rex Mariano, Chief of the Military Values Education Branch, Philippine Army Headquarters, Ft. Andres Bonifacio in Makati City, as he is in town to attend a Masons meeting, and is a close friend of mine. He dropped over to see me this morning. He read the Editorial...and made this comment for me to type-in. He said that pit bulls are even outlawed as a fighting dog or as a domestic animal in the Philippines. The PNP (Philippine National Police) are authorized to shoot on sight pit bulls if they are loose; so do citizens (and most of us carry sidearms, anyway, including myself). Citizens must show proof they are attacked by a Pit, but oftentimes, they shoot them anyway. Too bad, as sometimes the Pit's are nice; but always be careful. Even smells can set them off, or actions and fast movements. Just be careful.

Obama has been clear in his objections to Minister Farrakhan's past pronouncements and has not solicited the minister's support although Farrakhan has given several speeches in support of Obama. On the church issue, is it any different than any other mega-churches? Religion is one of the most intolerant areas of our life. Its time we leave it where it should be: on Sundays or weekends. I choose to follow my conscience--its led me very well so far. If you must know, the Obama family attended The United Church of Christ for 20 years, Obama married his wife at this church and Obama baptized his children at this church and in his own word "found Jesus Christ" at this church. He started attending this church before the start of his political career. The truth about Obama is this. Senator Obama was raised in a secular household in Indonesia by his stepfather and mother. Obama’s stepfather worked for a U.S. oil company, and sent his stepson to two years of Catholic school, as well as two years of public school. As Obama described it, “Without the money to go to the international school that most expatriate children attended, I went to local Indonesian schools and ran the streets with the children of farmers, servants, tailors, and clerks.” a quote taken from his book The Audacity of Hope, p. 274.
To be clear, Senator Obama has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed Christian. Furthermore, the Indonesian school Obama attended in Jakarta is a public school that is not and never has been a Madrassa.
These malicious, irresponsible charges are precisely the kind of politics the American people have grown tired of, and that Senator Obama is trying to change by focusing on bringing people together to solve our common problems.
We have a lot of work to do to recover the country from the last 8 years and religion won't fix any of it.

Five-Two-Four...nice to hear
Five-Two-Four...nice to hear from you, again. Too bad everyone is arguing about Obama and his background...especially that there are obviously two sides to the research that is coming out. One, in Obama's books and other records and the other from actual profiles that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Central Intelligence Agency has; however most of these records are not made public. As I recently retired from government service as an international US attorney, I know a lot of his background information, up to a minimal point, that is, however, cannot make any comments. That is the responsibility of the US government, although if his background history and profiles did not fit the criterias for running for President, he would have been brought into a conference room, sat down, read the reports and given no alternative but to back out of the race...even to be a US Senator, for that matter. So, he qualifies. I guess most people have opinions, and will fight for the person that they feel are most qualified. I'am Independent. Once "for" Obama and now "for" McCain. My wife has been "for" Obama for some time, now. We are a house divided. I guess no matter who wins this election, their hands will be almost tied for the next four years trying to clean up the utter disasters of the last 8 years from these Bush advocates in his cabinet, who, apparently, don't have much of a clue as to what they are doing...and Bush, too, as he was one of the little lambs that were in the flock somewhere. With the national polls giving Obama so much delegate lead...there may not be too much to worry about. We have to just wait and see. Hang in there!
