Donovan Schram (October 1939 – July 2025)

Fillmore - Donovan Schram, a devoted husband and family man, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at the age of 85. Born in Canada, and the only child of Robert Roy Schram and Ruthray (Adams) Schram. Don, at 19 married Roberta Jean Mc Clure, who was then 18 in 1959. Don joined the US Marine Corp and served his country for four years. Don’s life was blessed with four children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

After starting a career as a supervisor of 10 employees for 3M, Don pursued his desire to become his own boss through two successful businesses; first as a beekeeper, pollinating farms all over Southern California, and later as an orange grower. In his retirement Don loved living on his ranch, tending to the picking and packing machinery for farmer’s markets around the county. His next love in retirement was researching and writing about his family’s genealogy, finding and contacting relatives and sharing stories that brought his ancestors to life.

Don was proud of his three sons; Randy (Julie) Darryl, (Maren), Robert (Julie) and his six grandchildren; Jon Justine, Jet Kai, Will and Nora, and four great-grandchildren, Mila Rowan, Elise and Noah.
He will be remembered alongside his daughter Lisa who predeceased him in death.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 13th at 2:00 at Orchard Community Church, 8180 Telephone Road, Ventura CA 93004.
