David George Ortiz also known as Bozo passed away peacefully on November 21, 2022 in Bellevue, Nebraska after a battle with cancer. Bozo was born on August 17, 1956, in Santa Paula, CA to Virginia and Fred Ortiz. Bozo grew up in Fillmore where he attended school and graduated in 1975. Bozo was active in sports in high school and continued his love of the game long after. He loved to coach, umpire and play slow-pitch softball. His dream was to play just one game with his children but played until he couldn’t physically play anymore. Bozo had a big heart and loved everyone. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his four grandkids. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Colleen Ortiz, his children Sandra Gutierrez, Jaymee Whitlock (and her husband Robert Whitlock), Jennifer Walker, Staff Sargent David Ortiz Jr, Samantha Ortiz and his grandchildren Isaak Gutierrez, Jakob Gutierrez, Harley Whitlock, Nikolas Gutierrez and Clint Walker Coyle. His siblings Patricia, Linda, Julia, Frances, Ramona, Fred, Richard, Fernando, Robert and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Virginia and Fred, baby Larry and grandparents. We will be having a Celebration of Life on February 25,2023 12:00pm at the Piru Community Center, 802 Orchard Street, Piru CA.
