Daniel Cardenas Hernandez (1935-2021)

Daniel Cardenas Hernandez left this world peacefully on June 1st, 2021. He was born on October 10th, 1935 in Tonila, Jalisco, Mexico to Daniel and Guadalupe Cardenas Hernandez, he was their only child. In his teen years he enjoyed going to the local mercantile to check out the local pottery and craft, and of course the delicious food. In his early 20’s he met and married Emilia Cardenas, they later had 3 boys. They came to Fillmore, CA in “1961”. Daniel worked as a cook and later retired from the “Fillmore citrus association” which he worked for over 40 years. He enjoyed driving around Fillmore, and eating at many of our local restaurants, and socializing with friends. He was a devoted catholic his favorite Bible verse was “In the beginning God created the heaven and earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters” Genesis 1:1-2. He maintained a loving household, and when he had grandkids, they were his pride and joy. Everyone was fed, loved and happy. Daniel led a full and happy life and enjoyed it right until the end. He will be remembered by all that knew him as a funny easy loving person. He is survived by his sons Ramon, Angel, Joel (Julie). His grandchildren Maria, Ray, Daniel, Gabriel, Abraham, Citlali, Sofia, Jake and his great grandchildren Starr, lucia, and Ezekiel. He will deeply be missed!
A rosary will begin at 9:30am on Wednesday, July 14th, 2021 with a Funeral Mass to begin at 10:00am at Saint Francis of Assisi church in Fillmore, CA. Interment to follow at Bardsdale Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 we ask that you wear a mask during the services. Rip “chief”
