Ventura County, CA - April 6, 2026 - The Ventura County Library Foundation (Foundation) is delighted to announce its upcoming signature fundraising event, Books, Birds, and Blooms: Outdoor Sanctuaries taking place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from Noon to 4:00 p.m. This unique outdoor experience will bring together nature, literature, and community in support of the Ventura County Library System. Bird watching experiences will be enhanced with the guidance of the Ventura Audubon Society.
Set against the backdrop of beautifully curated gardens and natural spaces, Books, Birds, and Blooms invite guests to explore a series of inspiring outdoor sanctuaries while celebrating the vital role libraries play in enriching lives. Attendees will experience a setting with 280-degree ocean views, artist and pottery studios, native plants, nesting birds, the mobile library, a book giveaway, refreshments, and opportunities to connect with fellow supporters of literacy, education, and lifelong learning.
Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Ventura County Library System, helping to fund essential programs and services. These include early literacy initiatives, educational programming, technology access, community events, and resources that ensure equitable access to information for all residents.
“Books, Birds, and Blooms is a celebration of the beauty of nature and the power of libraries to cultivate knowledge and connection,” said Mary Rees, Chair of the Foundation. “We are excited to bring the community together for a meaningful and memorable day that supports programs making a lasting impact throughout Ventura County.”
Sponsorship opportunities are available for local businesses, organizations, and individuals who wish to support the event. Tickets are priced at $40.
