Rotary Hears from Rotarian Joe Aguirre
Pictured is Rotarian Joe Aguirre who gave a Fillmore Rotary program which began with his background, growing up in Fillmore. After graduating from Ventura and UC Irvine, he decided he wanted to get into music and attended Cal Arts. He is very talented on the guitar and taught the Club about how the different notes blend together to make different sounds, and the strumming creates different styles of music. He said music creates an emotion in us and affects our lives. It makes us remember where we were when we heard a particular song for the first time. When asked why he didn’t go into teaching music or performing, he jokingly answered if he did that, he wouldn’t be able to help us over 65’s with our Medicare at Aguirre Financial & Insurance Services. Joe began his business service 1990 but continues practicing music several hours each day. Photo credit Rotarian Martha Richardson.
