OSALV Calendar of Events

Every school day: Youth Center open 1-7 for homework help, tutoring, safe place to “hang”.

Students wanting Community Service Hours for school are welcome to come and do your hours (speak with site director Ricardo Miranda to schedule your hours).

Two Magic Mountain Tickets will be awarded to the youth who have the most participation/attendance and homework hours completed.

8/27 Thursday: 3:30 California Department of Rehabilitation (jobs/career and college support and incentives for ages 16 to adult).

8/29 Saturday: 2-4:00 Opening of OSALV ArtFull Summer at the Santa Paula Art Museum (Come to see the work that the OSALV youth did during the Artfull Summer)

8/31 Monday: 1:30 Palmer Drug Abuse Counseling (open invitation to all)
4:00 Youth Leadership Board

9/1 Tuesday: 10:00 Domestic Violence Support Group
5:00 Transportation Committee Meeting (improving public transportation for Fillmore/Piru)

9/2 Wednesday: 12:30 Social Equality Club: High School formed to provide safe zone and to encourage an open and accepting school culture.
1:00 Circle of Care (community is invited to attend to address issues of concern and look for ways to improve).The next four meetings will be on implementing Restorative Justice Methodology.
4:00 Food Distribution (all welcome to attend and get free food)
6:30 National Alliance of Mental Illness presenting Familia to Familia to Familia (support for families facing mental illness)

9/11 Friday 4:00 BarBQue: Only come if you are HUNGRY! (everyone welcome and everyone helps).
Future Events:

9/18 Friday Concert at the One Step (suggested donation $5.00 for students, $10.00 for adults) a fundraiser for the social equality club. Two reggae bands will be playing.

10/2 Dodger Game (10 youth who have participated the most in the summer)
