Nomination Period Extension Update: The office of Simi Valley Unified School District: Governing Board Member (Area E) is not eligible for filing during the extension period and has been removed from the list.

(VENTURA COUNTY) ---- Ventura County Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters Michelle Ascencion announced the extension of the nomination period for the following offices that are scheduled to be voted on in the November 3, 2026, General Election. Per state law (CA Elec Code § 8027), the nomination period for the below offices is extended when an eligible incumbent officer does not file nomination papers before the August 7, 2026, 5:00 PM deadline.
Nominations for these offices have a five-day extension period that closes on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 5 PM:

Contests where the current officeholder has reached the term limit for that office do not go into extension. The nomination extension does not apply to incumbents who are now ineligible to run for the seat since they didn’t file during the regular nomination period.
