At last week’s Fillmore Rotary Club meeting Steve Sutton was the guest speaker. He gave a brief history of his life with a few tragedies when he was young. He and his sister, who was his guardian then, moved to Ojai where he attended school at Happy Valley Boarding School. When he graduated, he got a job in carpentry and later decided to go back to school to become a contractor. An inspector mentored him and he worked for the county for two years. He then became the Chief Electrical Inspector for the City of Ventura. Through the years he was mentored by men who had been in the military, and he learned to be a mentor as well. His motto was “give as much as you can and use common sense”.
