Fillmore’s Ernest (Ernie) Joseph Morales passed away at age 88 at VCMC after a brief illness on Sunday, August 13, 2023. He spent 16 years on the Fillmore City Council, started Knights of Columbus Chapter at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, served as Fillmore Rotary President, and more. He graduated from Fillmore High in 1953 and earned his associate degree at Ventura College. He was an Army Veteran and for 30 years was a civilian administrator at Point Mugu Navy base.
