On September 17, 2026, at 7 pm the fall series of Fillmore Historical Museum’s virtual presentations will begin.
All sessions are virtual and there is no charge, but you must register in advance to receive the link to the presentation.
The September 17 session will be by members of the History Department at California State University at Channel Islands: Alec McCutchen, Kyle Tiemeyer, and Professor Jacqueline Reynoso. They have spent many hours at the Museum researching the 1927 effort to build a monorail from Fillmore to Sespe Hot Springs, turning the Hot Springs into a tourist destination. “Combing the Records: P.S. Combs and the Fillmore Monorail Project.” will focus on the promoter of the project, P. S. Combs of Chicago. The October 15 presentation will be “There’s no ‘There’ There” about buildings, businesses, and other things, bad or good, which were once in our area but no longer exist. Registration for this session will start approximately on September 18.
The final presentation on November 19, will close out our series on grammar schools with “Grammer Schools of the Piru Area.” Michele McKinley and Melissa Cervantez will be presenting this. Registration will open approximately October 16.
