It is a known fact that Henry Ford and Thomas Edison took yearly camping trips in the Maryland woods each summer. It is also a known fact that in 1921, President Warren Harding went along on that trip. Inspired by these actual events, CAMPING WITH HENRY AND TOM is an exploration of friendship, politics, and leadership as it examines what might have actually transpired in those woods. Harding's plan to elude the Secret Service for a brief visit with old friends during the camping trip goes awry when the car they are traveling in collides with a deer. Stranded until the security detail catches on to their plan, niceties are brushed aside for these three living legends and the power struggle begins. Hidden agendas, secret liaisons, and unexpected twists combine for both a comedic and dramatic clash of two great minds and one great heart of the twentieth century.

Featured in the cast of notables are three veteran stage actors known for their work on many stages throughout the county. Ronald Rezac tackles the role of business tycoon Henry Ford while SPTC Artistic Director David Ralphe takes on the wit and wile of Thomas Edison. Howard Leader steps into the polished shoes of President Warren Harding. Rounding out the cast will be Richard Yager as Colonel Starling. CAMPING WITH HENRY AND TOM will be directed by Tom Eubanks with Leslie Nichols producing. Scenic design will be by Will Shupe with lighting design by Gary Richardson. Barbara Pedziwiatr will costume the show.
