Led by 2008 Grammy Award Nominee Souhail Kaspar, the SK Near East Music Ensemble provides a full program of traditional and modern concert level music from Egypt, Lebanon, Syria and North Africa. Comprised of an international assortment of musicians performing on traditional ethnic instruments combined with violins and cello, the Ensemble presents innovative and “firey” compositions. Musical sets vary with classical Egyptian pieces by Farid al-Atrash, Mohamed ‘Abd al-Wahab and Umm Kulthum, as well as popular and folkloric songs. The SK Near East Music Ensemble is known for delighting audiences with stellar entertainment while preserving the cultural integrity, historical richness and art of the music.
