Entomologist Anna Howell presents "Beefriending Your Local Bees" at UC Hansen Agricultural Center

Scientists estimate that one third of the world’s food crops and four-fifths of its flowering plants depend on some form of insect pollination, mainly by bees. Yet honeybees and native bees around the globe are declining in numbers.

Speaker, Anna Howell, MS, Entomologist UC Cooperative Extension-Ventura will present: Beefriending Your Local Bees. Discover the fascinating world of bees, pollination and its impact on eco and agricultural systems, observe collections of native bees and demonstration on how to build native bee nests. 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Free. The UC Hansen Agricultural Center will be open on March 26th from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for self-guided Faulkner House, garden tours, and Master Gardener plant sale.
