Abraham Diaz Carreño (2018)

Abraham migrated from Oaxaca, Mexico in 1944 where he went to Idaho until 1945 and came to California working in various types of ranch work.
In 1948 he started working for a grocery store in Santa Paula, Ca known as Siquideo’s Market for several years; from there he went to work for Chino’s Market in Santa Paula, Ca until August 1970. He opened his own business in Fillmore, Ca known as Abe’s Hi-Way Market. Abraham was always willing to help the citizens of Fillmore in any way he could, many local families went to his store for groceries. In 1995 he closed his store in Fillmore. Abraham served as President of the Rotary Club in Fillmore; he was a very well-liked man.
After he retired, he returned to his beloved home in Oaxaca, Mexico. Eventually he moved back with his family here in Fillmore and here he stayed until he passed away on May 4, 2018.
He will be deeply missed by all. May he Rest in Peace.
Services for Abraham will take place on Thursday, May 24, 2018, with Visitation at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, 600 N Central Ave, Fillmore at 4:00pm; a Rosary will take place at 7:00pm. Followed by a Mass on Friday, May 25, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 10:00am followed by a Graveside at Bardsdale Cemetery 1698 S Sespe Rd, Fillmore.
