Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger issued the following statement today regarding the death of Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff Randy Hamson of Simi Valley:

“Maria and I join all Californians in mourning the loss of Deputy Sheriff Randy Hamson. Randy went above and beyond the call of duty and risked his own life to protect the lives of those in the community, and we will always remember his selfless dedication and sacrifice. We send our deepest condolences to Randy’s family, friends and fellow officers during this difficult time.”
