Simple gestures can restore a child’s faith in love and security. This is the power of a foster parent.
A willingness to comfort, encourage and enrich a life, whether briefly or forever is the essence of being a foster parent. See if the power of fostering is in you at an upcoming foster parenting information meeting on Tuesday, April 22, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Foster parents can be single, married and live in a house or apartment. Foster families come in many sizes, ages and backgrounds; they may be together for a short time or permanently.

Recent changes in the law enables foster parenting to extend to a foster child’s 21 birthday meaning foster parents have an even greater influence on their foster child’s future and an opportunity to provide mentoring to children as they enter young adulthood

To learn more about foster parenting, attend the next information meeting on April 22 at the Human Services Agency of Ventura County (855 Partridge Dr., Ventura). Call 805-654-3220 or go to www.vchsa.org/foster for more dates and an online meeting option.
